Properties: Yellow powder, no odor; can't dissolve in water and organic solvent, but dissolvable in thick inorganic acid; stable in light, air and alkali; The relative density is about 4g/mL, and particle diameter is 0.3—2μm. It has good hiding ability and strong coloring up ability, and even same as that of Lead Chrome Yellow. According to the particle size, yellow iron oxide takes on different color from green shade yellow and red shade yellow. It is stable when the temperature is not more than 150℃ , once the temperature beyond 150℃ it will lose the crystalloid water and decompose to red iron oxide. It is innocuity and can't be absorbed by flesh, so it has none side effect.
Toxicity: ADI 0-0.5mg/kg(FAO/WHO,1985).
Use: For coloring tablets,pills,capsules
Storage: Dry, not be affected with damp, high temperature. Keep insulating from acid and alkali. If the packaging is not tear open,the valid storage period is two year.
